A field alive with rhythm and intention, The Nomad’s Signal carries the quiet language of movement across distance. Its repeating geometric forms seem to pulse and shift, like messages carried across open land—each motif a mark of memory, direction, and continuity. The warm, time-softened reds and deep blues move in subtle waves of abrash, giving the surface a living, breathing quality that only age and handwork can produce.

This is a rug that doesn’t sit still—it hums.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & CHARACTER

Woven by Yomut Turkmen weavers in the late 19th to early 20th century, this rug reflects a design language rooted in memory rather than strict repetition. The motifs—angular, directional, and slightly varied—create a dynamic field that feels both structured and spontaneous.

The natural abrash—subtle shifts in color caused by small-batch dyeing—adds depth and movement, a hallmark of authentic tribal weaving.

The wool has aged beautifully, with a soft, matte surface and a handle that speaks to both durability and time. The knotting shows slight irregularities consistent with handwoven tribal work, giving the rug its distinctive, human presence.

There is visible wear at the ends and along portions of the edges, including some fringe loss and minor unraveling. These signs of age are reflected in the pricing and contribute to the rug’s authenticity and lived history.
