CRAFTSMANSHIP & CHARACTER

A striking example of Northwest Persian village weaving, The Signal Pathway carries a bold, architectural energy that feels both grounded and dynamic. Each medallion reads like a marker along a path—distinct, deliberate, and connected—creating a sense of forward movement across the length of the rug.

The design draws heavily from Caucasian visual traditions—stepped diamonds, angular contours, and emblem-like forms—yet it remains firmly rooted in Persian weaving practice. This blend gives the rug its unique character: graphic and assertive, yet balanced and intentional.

Woven into the field is a subtle and intriguing detail: the inscriptions of the date 1332, rendered in Persian numerals, and 1911. The two dates roughly match, and most likely mark the year or two during which the rug was woven.

The all-wool foundation gives the rug a softer, more fluid handle than many Persian rugs of similar scale. It drapes naturally and feels inviting underfoot, while subtle abrash—gentle tonal variations from hand-dyed wool—adds richness and movement across the surface.

This is a piece that does more than fill a space—it shapes it. Ideal for a hallway, entry, or long room where its rhythm and presence can fully unfold.
